Let’s rewind a few months back where we were contacted by Crystal from Amazae Special Events to do this Elegant Rose cake for Marc and Andrea Tuttle’s wedding at the St. Claire in SJ. This was not Andrea and Marc’s initial design until we were approach by a reality television program that wanted to see some sketches of wedding cakes that we were going to be producing and they needed to be very detailed, well Andrea and Marc’s cake was perfect to create a more detailed design for. Unfortunately, we were not selected to be a part of the program for this season and for this reason the bride and groom went back to their original design for their wedding cake. Unbeknownst to the bride her mother called in a week before her wedding and wanted to upgrade the cake as a surprise for her daughter and son- in- law to be for their wedding day.
Each and every gumpaste rose and leaf were handmade and airbrushed in shades of ivory and champagne by our incredible bakers. As you will notice there are accents of black folded “tufts” of fondant to look like pieces of fabric scattered throughout the array of roses. The bottom tier features a fondant scrollwork pattern painted in metallic champagne. The flavors and fillings that this cake was made up of are; top tier: Tuxedo with white chocolate mousse with fresh strawberries, middle tier: Chocolate filled with Mocha Truffe & Fudge split, and bottom tier: White with Raspberry Cream Cheese. The beautiful riser that the cake is sitting on was handmade by Nicole Ha to top of this gorgeous cake.
